HomeMy WebLinkAbout8791RESOLUTION NO. 8791 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE PUEBLO TEEN COUNCIL BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. There is hereby established and created the Pueblo Teen Council (PTC) as an advisory committee to the City Council. The PTC shall consist of no more than 21 members to serve without compensation. The City Council shall appoint the members of the PTC. No more than four (4) members may be from the same high school. Members shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years provided that members initially shall be appointed for staggered terms. The PTC shall select its own officers and may adopt bylaws not inconsistent with this Resolution. SECTION 2. The functions of the PTC shall be as follows: (a) To bridge the gaps between city officials and teens by working directly with youth representatives. (b) To make possible a line of communication where Pueblo teens can openly voice their opinions. (c) To work with City Council, Chambers of Commerce, and County Commissioners to provide opportunities for Pueblo youth. SECTION 3. The PTC shall have no regular staff or budget but may request administrative assistance from the City Manager. SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective upon final passage.
