HomeMy WebLinkAbout8751RESOLUTION NO. 8751 A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE SKATE PARK -PHASE II PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for the Skate Park -Phase II Construction project were received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Total Terrain of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of the bids determined to be responsible; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for the Skate Park -Phase II Construction Project be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $103,920.00. The awarding of the contract for the project set forth herein shall be subject to the filing of sufficient sureties to be approved by the Purchasing Agent of said City. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent be, and she is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. BACKGROUND: The Phase II construction project will complete the Skate Park Facility which is located in City Park directly north of the lake behind the administrative office and between Ballfield #1 and the maintenance compound. It has been designed by Anzuini Associates Architects, who with City Staff and the Skate Park Association, conducted numerous public meetings to gain user input for the final design. Phase II will include completion of the second half (approximately 10,000 sq. ft.) of the facility and will have a bowl area, landscaping, lighting and drinking fountain. The project is scheduled to be completed by the fall of this year. The Phase 11 project includes funding from the County, Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund and the Skate Park Association. RECOMMENDATION: The Pueblo Skate Park Association supports approval of this resolution.
