HomeMy WebLinkAbout8724RESOLUTION NO. 8724 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR 1999 MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALK AND CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for 1999 MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALK AND CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Jay Furney Construction, of Pueblo, Colorado, was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for 1999 MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALK AND CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $97,114.30. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent be, and she is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. fy7 "9rel a In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Mesa Ave. Council Agenda TITLE: A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR 1999 MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALK AND CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT DEPARTMENT: Public Works ISSUE AGENDA ITEM # DATE: June 14, 1999 Should the City Council award a construction contract for 1999 MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALK AND CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENT to Jay Furney Construction, for $97,1114.3. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution BACKGROUND This project will replace settled, broken or deteriorated sidewalk and curb and gutter at various locations within low to moderate income areas of the city. The locations are chosen from a list of complaints that have been prioritized according to the severity. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project will be provided from the CDBG Fund and all expenditures will be charged to Account Numbers: 004-1999-400-000-040-7524 Attached is a bid summary sheet showing the result of the competitive bids on this project. Project locations are identified on attachment "A ".
