RESOLUTION NO. 8595 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING REAL PROPERTY TO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, STATE OF COLORADO„ FROM THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, FOR ROADWAY PURPOSES WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, being the owner of real property known as Lot BA of the Amended Plat of Dill -Hahn Subdivision; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation desires to extend Dillon Drive south of 29 St. through a portion of this property; and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo agrees to convey by quitclaim deed the necessary right -of- way for the extension of Dillon Drive, south of 29 St across the northern portion of this property; said deed having been approved as to form by the City Attorney; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: Section 1 The City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, hereby approves conveyance, by quit claim deed, a parcel of land described in Exhibit "A" , to the Colorado Department of Transportation. INTRODUCED December 28 By John Verna ,1998 Councilperson APPROVED G Pr dent of the Council City Clerk Council Agenda TITLE : Resolution Transferring Real Property To Department of AGENDA ITEM # Transportation, State of Colorado, from the City of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, for Roadway Purposes DEPARTMENT: Public Works ISSUE DATE: December 28, 1998 Should the City Council transfer real property to the Colorado Department of Transportation for roadway purposes RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution BACKGROUND The City and Colorado Department of Transportation have been working together to improve the safety and congestion of the 125 & Hwy 50W intersection. Part of the improvements include eliminating the direct connection of the east interstate frontage road to Hwy 47 and the extension of Dillon Dr. to function as the frontage road. Dillon will be extended to Hwy 47 to the north and 26 St. to the south. The southerly alignment will run east of King Soopers, from 29` St to 26 St. The alignment will go through property in the river bottom owned by the City. The City proposes to transfer the necessary right -of -way to CDOT as part of their contribution to the project. Enclosed is a vicinity map showing the location of the property.
