HomeMy WebLinkAbout8532RESOLUTION NO. 8532 r A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PUEBLO TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE PUEBLO SKATEBOARD PARK PROJECT TO THE STATE BOARD OF OUTDOORS COLORADO TRUST FUND, AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo supports the Pueblo Skateboard Park project and grant applications to the State Board of Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund; and BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1 The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver the grant application for the construction of Pueblo Skateboard Park on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, to the State.Board of Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 2 The grant application is requesting $75,000 from GOCO, with the City of Pueblo obligating up to $50,000 as cash match from the City's annual Conservation Trust Fund (Account No. 002 -1998- 306 - 000 - 040 -1125) to the total project cost. SECTION 3 A copy of the grant applications are on file at the City of Pueblo's Department of Planning and Development. BACKGROUND: The City of Pueblo's Department of Planning and Development is requesting approval to submit a $75,000 grant application to the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund for constructing the Pueblo Skateboard Park project. Currently underway, is the construction of Phase I of the project. This grant application will fund the construction of Phase Il of the project which consist of a variety of skateboarding obstacles; a staging/ resting area; lighting, and landscaping (see attached map). The estimated budget for the Pueblo Skateboard Park project (Phase II) is as follows: $ 75,000 Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund $ 50,000 City of Pueblo Cash Match $ 25,000 Pueblo County Cash Match $ 3,000 Pueblo Skate Park Association Cash Match $153,000 TOTAL COST RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The City of Pueblo will obligate up to $50,000 in cash match from the City's annual Conservation Trust Fund (Account No. 002 - 1999- 306 - 000 -040- 1130).
