HomeMy WebLinkAbout07996RESOLUTION NO. 7996 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE CANVASS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 1996 GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 1996 WHEREAS, the canvass of the Special Election held on November 5, 1996 has been completed and the Board of Elections has unanimously passed its Resolution Certifying the votes and declaring the results of voting at said Special Election; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1: The Resolution of the Board of Elections certifying the votes and declaring the results at said Special Election, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved; and the designation of results therein contained are hereby accepted and adopted. SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. INTRODUCED November 25 1996 BY: Samuel Corsentino Councilperson APPROVED ``__. 1 Presid t of the Council ATTEST: City Clerk A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE VOTES AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF VOTING AT THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 1996 (OFFICIAL SURVEY OF RETURNS) WHEREAS, the Board of Elections met on November 8, 1996 as the Canvassing Board of the Special Municipal Election held in conjunction with a Coordinated Election in the City of Pueblo, Colorado on November 5, 1996, pursuant to Section 5 -1 -115 of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo, as Amended; and WHEREAS, the Board of Elections proceeded to canvass the votes cast at said Special Municipal Election and to make an abstract thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS, that: SECT_I_ NA: The following votes are unanimously certified: 0-UESTION-2A (EXCESS REVENUE) YES: 24,222 NO: 12,186 =011114 Q1 4 On Question No. 2A, Revenue and Spending Change in the amount of $1,453,392 for Police and Fire Emergency Equipment Including Vehicles, Fire Station, and /or Street Improvements; the greatest number of votes were cast FOR THE QUESTION; therefore, Question 2A DID PASS. SEC ILON-3: The statements from the abstract of votes prepared by the City Clerk are hereby approved, and each member of the Board of Elections shall affix his /her signature thereto, certifying same to be correct and shall endorse and subscribe on such statements their certification of determination required by Section 5 -1- 119(1) of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo, as amended.
