HomeMy WebLinkAbout7920RESOLUTION NO. 7920 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY OF PUEBLO'S 1995 CONSOLIDATED PLAN SUBMITTED TO HUD BY ADOPTING A NEIGHBORHOOD STRATEGY PLAN FOR FIVE NEIGHBORHOODS WITHIN THE AREA KNOWN AS THE PUEBLO "Y" THEREBY ALLOWING MORE FLEXIBLE USE OF CDBG FUNDS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE TARGETED PUEBLO NEIGHBORHOODS WHEREAS, The City of Pueblo held a Public Hearing on May 16, 1996 for purposes of amending the 1995 Five -Year Consolidated Plan submitted to HUD on January 18, 1996 and; WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo adopted the neighborhood revitalization plans proposed in the Pueblo Community Enterprise EZ /EC Strategic Plan submitted to HUD on June 27, 1994 and; WHEREAS, in recent years, HUD's Office of Community Planning and Development has stressed a coordinated marshalling of resources to facilitate a grantee's ability to engage in comprehensive community revitalization strategies thereby encouraging Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement grantees to develop comprehensive neighborhood revitalization strategies and; WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo administers various affordable housing programs for purposes of providing safe, decent and adequate housing for low and moderate income households, thereby contributing toward the revitalization of older Pueblo neighborhoods; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO COLORADO, that: The Neighborhood Plans for. the Pueblo "Y" area submitted to HUD under the federally- designated Empowerment Zone or Enterprise Community on June 27, 1994 with amended benchmarks is hereby adopted by the City Council of Pueblo, Colorado as the official neighborhood strategy plan for the five neighborhoods individually known as the Core, Eastside (including Eastwood Heights), Hyde Park, Southside, and the Northside thereby making certain CDBG activities as defined in HUD's Notice CPD -96 -01 more flexible.
